All sorts of stuff is pushed into my feed. Your heading to the post refers to ‘man rules’, not ‘human rules that all humans including men should follow’. I remain unclear how these are man rules. They could be ‘Mexican rules’ or ‘Norwegian rules’ or indeed ‘transwoman rules’.
Great post, thank you. The unwritten "rules" are some of the most critical. The trivial complaining in the comments says a lot about the commenters, if you know what I mean? I'm subscribing, thanks again.
First, I agree with those who commented that these rules apply to everyone. I too was taught these principles by both parents and teachers. Second, a thought on dressing well. Nothing causes me to lose respect for a person faster than having them remove their suit coat and reveal that they only ironed the front of their shirt. I don’t associate with people who so easily take shortcuts in life.
🇨🇦 here. Every single one of your rules also apply to women in the public sphere.
Inclusiveness ( what you would call protecting) , showing respect to others as a default setting, politely masking your disappointment in others' less-tha-optimal behaviour in social settings, honour in all of you dealings, generosity to those making their way up, standing to greet, not taking the last piece...
These are all things my parents taught me as the basics of social interaction, that have served me well in building my company.
Surely one of your unwritten man-rules has to do with using real artwork from an artist not AI out of respect for the discipline and craft of artists?
Couldn't agree more, solid rules, well done.
They all seem sensible enough. I dont get the restriction to men. They apply, if they apply, to people.
Right, but this is a men’s lifestyle page

Context, my friend. Your feed shows you who wrote it, and what the newsletter is called. It’s clear as day that this is a page for men.

Appreciate the kind words, friend! And of course, your support. Just trying to get the message out to as many men as possible.
Leadership is not about being in charge, it’s taking care of the people in your charge. USMC.

It’s all in the details!
Real men don’t use generative AI.
“Real men” get the message across and help other men using whatever resources necessary. What a pathetic comment.
Nice post! Good rules

🏆🏆🏆 Great stuff. I agree with all of them.
Fine “Rules”, but why would these not be “Human Rules”?
I enjoyed reading these rules and I’m a woman. I think they apply equally to women. Thank you. 🙏🏼
Fair enough. Probably not. Godspeed...
I like much of this, but “your big bro” is beyond. Bite me.
Good one. It’s a pen name, and if you’re too fragile to understand that, this isn’t the place for you.
Solid advice. Thank you.
Great set of principles … appreciate the rationales given …
